Old World Charm

“Street Lamp” is from Merck Family’s Old World Christmas 1996 Holiday Collection. This exquisitely detailed, hand-painted and glittered ornament was produced in Germany by Inge-Glas. It measures 5”.

This long retired and hard to find collectible clip-on ornament was carefully mouth blown, one at a time, into a finely crafted porcelain mold. After the inside was coated with a wash of silver for reflection, it was then hand-painted with brightly colored lacquers and then carefully adorned with sparkling glitter. When the ornament stem was snipped, the clip was attached; no two ornaments are alike. It takes approximately seven days to create one of these magnificent collectible ornaments.
