Holiday creations inspired by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.
From the art studios of Mia, comes “Van Gogh’s Irises Tree Topper”, a stunning creation for the discerning ornament collector!
This unique finial was designed by Mia and created in her own studio in Poland, where the centuries old art of making glass tree ornaments has its roots. Each ornament crafted in her studio is mouth-blown, silvered, painted and glittered by hand. Mia’s creations are inspired by old Christmas traditions, antique ornament designs, master drawing, art treasures, and the natural world around us.
This beautiful finial was carefully mouth-blown into a finely-crafted porcelain mold. After the inside was coated with a wash of silver for reflection, it was hand-painted with brightly colored lacquers; making it distinct from all others; no two ornaments alike! It takes approximately seven days to create one of Mia’s magnificent collectibles.
“Irises” is a painting by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. van Gogh painted “Irises” in 1890 while living at the asylum at Saint Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France. The painting done in the last year of van Gogh’s life was influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints, like many of his works and those by other artists of the time.
This long retired finial measures approximately 15 ½” long. The bottom ball measures 11 ½”, the middle 9 ¾” and the top ball 8”.
