That’s Mine

This ornament tops them all!

Imported from Germany by Merck Family’s Old World Christmas, this long retired ornament is part of a special collection of ornaments that was inspired by the craftsmanship and memories of Birgit Muller-Blech’s glass ornament making roots. When the first glass Christmas ornaments were created in the Thuringian region of Germany, Birgit’s ancestors were there!

This unique ornament was designed by Birgit and hand–crafted in the same manner used by her ancestors; Birgit is from one of Germany’s premier glassblowing families. Her amazing heritage of craftsmanship and artistry is evident in each ornament she creates. Due to the extraordinary skill and time required to bring each ornament to life, Birgit’s Christmas Collection was, and still is, one of the most limited and collectible ornament collections offered. Each design is retired after its very limited production.

This whimsical blown-glass ornament is from Birgit’s Childhood Memories collection. From her youthful recollections, Birgit recaptures happy times spent playing with her favorite toys. One such toy is this shinny red top with a cuddly little teddy bear and train. “That’s Mine” has an Old World Christmas catalog number of #121, and is in “new”, mint condition, from store stock. This precious collectible measures 5 ¼” and comes in a see-through plastic ornament box with a certificate of authenticity.

Spinning Top...Almost weightless as it dances across the floor, the top whirls and humms as my wide-eyed teddy bear watches entranced.
