A fully clad king before his big “walk”!
Imported from Germany by Merck Family’s Old World Christmas, this long retired ornament is part of a special collection of ornaments that was inspired by the craftsmanship and memories of Birgit Muller-Blech’s glass ornament making roots. When the first glass Christmas ornaments were created in the Thuringian region of Germany, Birgit’s ancestors were there!
This exquisite ornament was designed by Birgit and hand–crafted in the same manner used by her ancestors; Birgit is from one of Germany’s premier glassblowing families. Her amazing heritage of craftsmanship and artistry is evident in each ornament she creates. Due to the extraordinary skill and time required to bring each ornament to life, Birgit’s Christmas Collection was, and still is, one of the most limited and collectible ornament collections offered. Each design is retired after its very limited production.
This remarkable ornament is from Birgit’s Famous Fairytales Collection; Birgit recreates The Emperor’s New Cloths in his regal attire. He sports an ermine trimmed purple robe with matching crown. Elaborately hand-painted in rich tones of green, gold, brown, purple and red, this retired collectors’ piece has an Old World Christmas catalog number of #113, and is in “new”, mint condition, from store stock. “The Emperor’s New Cloths” measures 6” and comes in its see-through plastic ornament box with a certificate of authenticity.
