Reproduced to look like original antique cards from Christmases long, long, ago!
Beautifully reproduced, the construction paper-like stock for this pair of holiday greeting cards has been carefully chosen and distressed at the folds to resemble an original antique Christmas card. The script and drawing inside the cards make it almost impossible to distinguish what year they were actually made!
The first card has a set of three gold bells with holly and red berries, the message reads: “A happy Christmas”. Inside, in vintage-style hand writing is printed: “Merry Christmas, MAY THE HAPPINESS OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON BE YOURS THROUGH ALL THE COMING YEAR”. On the back of the card, under its brand “Forever Born” states: "This is a reproduction of a card that was originally published in 1909".
The second card features a plump Santa Claus all dressed in red, getting ready to reward the faithful family dog with a treat for the stocking that the dog holds in his mouth. The message printed on the front of this whimsical card reads; “Christmas Joy”. Inside, the card has a lovely nostalgic holly and berry drawing with “Best Wishes, FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW YEAR” as its greeting. On the back is also printed "This is a reproduction of a card that was originally published in 1909".
The set consists of twelve (12) cards; six “Bell and Holly” cards and six “Santa with Dog” cards. They measure approximately 8” x 5 ¾”. Suitable for framing, each of the eight cards come with an envelope for mailing.
