A frosty symbol of the holiday season!
From Merk Family’s Old World Christmas comes “Frosty Cones on Form”. This long retired ornament is made of mouth blown-glass, and is exquisitely hand-glittered and painted.
“Fir trees are one of the widely recognized symbols of the holiday season. Christians began using fir trees and other evergreens as reminders of Christ’s gift of everlasting life. Cones were natural decorations that grew on the majestic fir and pine trees, so they were naturally among the first molded glass ornaments produced”.
“Frosty Cones on Form” with its distinctive trademarked star cap, was carefully hand-crafted in Germany by Inge-Glas. Inge-Glass, once the exclusive provider of blown glass collectables to Old World Christmas, was founded by direct descendants of the original glassblowers of Lauscha. Using centuries old techniques, this ornament was faithfully recreated using an original antique mold.
This beautiful ornament is pictured showing each side to illustrate the detail and fine craftsmanship that went into creating this lovely collectible. “Frosty Cones on Form” measures approximately 3 ½” and is in “new”, mint condition” from store stock. This long retired collectible comes with an Old World Christmas story card telling the legend of the Glass Cone Ornament.
