From the “Museum Collection”; an Old World Christmas Victorian-inspired masterpiece!
From Merck Family’s Old World Christmas comes “Radient Cherub above Ball with Tinsel Wire”, part of the long retired “Museum Collection”. This stunning hand-crafted ornament is made of mouth blown-glass, and is hand-painted and glittered. It has tinsel wire wrap, spun-glass, and Victorian-style paper angels adorning the top. Using antique molds, this ornament was created in Germany by Inge-Glas; once the exclusive provider of glass collectibles to Old World Christmas.
“New”, in mint condition, from store stock, this retired ornament measures 5 ½”. Because of the elaborate decoration and the time involved in completing each piece, these beautiful ornaments were produced in very limited quantities. The skill of wire wrapping is known only to a few who remember the process from bygone generations. These ornaments are destined to become future museum pieces!
This ornament is shown on both sides to illustrate the craftsmanship and fine attention to detail that went into creating this magnificent ornament. At the completion of each piece, the ornament was then topped with the star cap trademark, signifying its authenticity as an heirloom ornament, hand-crafted by Inge-Glas of Germany.
